Experimenting with the "CARE" approach to recording evidence...
Context
Now that I am in my second year of teaching, I am ready to apply for full registration from the Teachers' Registration Board of South Australia (TRBSA) and be recognised as operating at the Proficient career stage of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST).
Action
Today I am attending the "DECD Graduate to Proficient Workshop" for Early Career Teachers run by Leila Kasprzak and Melissa White.
Result
I now have advice from members of the DECD HR Workforce Development team on how to progress the Proficient career stage of the APST. I have identified that I need to collect evidence for the 37 standards. I can do this efficiently by annotating how a piece of evidence meets more than one standard using this CARES format.
Evaluation
I will develop this focus area further when I make a more concrete plan of when and how to identify and plan my professional learning needs at my performance management meeting with my line manager in term 4.
